John & Mervyn Moon (friesianhorses-ni.co.uk) – We have been involved in breeding Friesian horses for just over 5 years.

As we are very conscious about the quality of the Friesian especially with no Stallion licensed to breed outside Holland, we import semen from the Top Stallions in the Netherlands. We both have offsprings from Anders 451, who was third in the World Championship in 2011.

John has an offspring from Beart 411, Champion 2006 and Reserve Champion 2008, also a mare expecting a foal to Norbert 444, who was Champion in January this year. Other offsprings from Eibert 419, Rindert 406, Jisse 433, Karel 370 and Wobke 403. When we see the quality of the offsprings these Stallions produce it makes the import of semen more rewarding.

We are very fortunate to have Dr Melanie Spahn and her Vets at Glenshane Veterinary Surgery who do all the scanning and A.I. of the mares.

We are both on the committee of the Friesian Horse Association of Great Britain & Ireland (FHAGBI) and we would advise those with quality Friesian mares to consider A.I. with a licensed Stallion.

Anyone who requires information on importing of semen please contact John at Friesian Horses NI.Com or telephone 07713081744.
