It was a very successful day for the Moon family at the FHAGBI Northern Irish Inspections held at Laurel View Equestrian centre, Templepatrick on Monday 20th September 2010, with Best Foal being awarded to John Moon’s handsome 2nd Premie colt Giovanni M (Anders 451 Sport x Ulke 338 Sport) and Mervyn Moon’s beautiful two year old filly Ash (Monte 378 Sport x Ids 300 ) gaining a first premium and best in show. Indeed Ash was the only horse to be awarded a first premium in Northern Ireland this year, and was praised by KFPS inspector Bauke de Boer for her beautiful forehand, correct conformation and roomy gaits.

In the mare’s classes a ferry trip from Scotland was rewarded with a Second premie and Ster status for Jade fan Hunsingo ( Leffert 306 Sport + Pref x Piter 312) and owner Sue Clayton, whilst Olivia fan Batouwe owned by Seamus Lagan(v. Ielke Sport) retained her second premie Ster status and later went on to be declared riding horse champion by riding judge Sybren Minkema.

In the Stallions class, the magnificent Ridzert vb Ster ( Fetse 349 x Nykle 309), owned by George Fawcett , retained his foalbook Ster status and was clearly top in his class.

The day ended with a superb display of carriage driving given by Alex Fawcett with his father George’s stallions put to an original sporting dog cart.
